RAMPANT FOUR

There's many ways to interpret a line drawing with color in CS5. So I've put this image thru many different test runs.
In this version I was experimenting with dropping out the white color entirely, then using the remaining art as a color selection.
By creating several layers of various colors I would erase portions of one layer to reveal the colors beneath with a custom brush.
The image starts to unfold and becomes a way to organically rediscover a fresh version.

STEAM

Steam
Created a custom brush off of a tone pattern from an old Saldanas newspaper strip.
Actually it could have been any zip a tone pattern but the Saldanas strip was handy.

Barbarian:WIP 2009

Here's a digital painting that is in it's infancy. Just working out the rough forms. I drew directly on the Cintiq for the figure and weapons, then placed a scanned pencil drawing made with an old mechanical pencil behind.

I will add more as I continue and cleanup the figure. I wanted to capture the smile first and work from there after getting the general forms laid down.
