GREEN LANTERN

Saw this up online and decided to tweak the colors a bit to match more of the comics rendition.
Mask shape ala Neal Adams version and added the gloves and black accents.

Did this pretty fast so its a bit rough around the edges.

I have to give major kudos. That rendition looks WAY better than the original.

Hi Rafael, I ran across your blog recently and saw the great designs you did for the other JCOM however I rember a few years back seeing them at the NY licensing show large in all theire glory. I worked on the humanoid costumes for the Pixar version for a few weeks.
Anyway I like your take on the green lanter color scheme 100% better. The small changes make a world of diffrence. Also I grew up in Miami Fl and my parents live in Naples FL so hearing my fav artist Frazetta passing away in FT myers struck a personal blow as well.

Thanks Targete, those JCoM designs were done over the weekend so that the Paramount producers could make the presentation to the ERB rights holders. It helped land them the options, and they evolved once I got working steadily with the director Kerry Conran, artists Iain McCaig and AD Kevin Conran. I was also fight design guy on the film. Congrats on landing the Pixar gig, I am glad that a version of the book will finally make it to the screen.
Small world eh? What is it with Florida? maybe the heat and the critters roaming the glades lit a grim creative spark! Wonderful website and work. Thanks for stopping by!
